As a society, we are conditioned to the benefits of insurance.  We equip ourselves with life, medical, automobile, and other kinds of insurance.  Pre-planning a funeral is actually another type of insurance that safeguards families and loved ones from the burden and expense.  While we appreciate the wisdom and concern of close relatives, funeral and burial arrangements are too significant to be left to other decision makers.
